Markets closed lower today, continuing yesterday’s decline after the Fed announced Operation Twist and gave a pessimistic outlook citing the significant downside risk for the US and global economy. Markets were also under pressure because of concerns of economic slowdown in Europe and China. The Dow closed down 100 points, but was well off of the session low of -308 shortly after the open. Markets were under pressure because of developments in Europe over the weekend that casted doubt on the bailouts for both Italy and Greece.
