Every trading day the gong is sounded in Amsterdam to mark the opening (9.00 am) and closing (17.30 pm) of the trading session.
Professor Job Swank, recently appointed director of Monetary Matters and Financial Stability at the Dutch Central Bank (DNB), sounded the gong at his visit to Beursplein 5.
As a member of the managing board of the DNB, Swank is responsible for Economic Policy and Research, Statistics and Information, Financial Stability and Financial Markets. Swank holds various other positions, including that of lecturer in Economic Policy at Erasmus University Rotterdam since 2002. In 2006 he was named deputy crown-appointed member of the Social and Economic Council of the Netherlands.
