Every trading day the gong is sounded in Amsterdam to mark the opening (9.00 am) and closing (17.30 pm) of the trading session.
The Advisory Council for the Securities Industry is an umbrella organisation representing investment companies in the Netherlands. CEO Mea Hiskes-Willemse sounded the gong.
Over 100 companies are affiliated with the council via its subsidiaries VV&C (the Association of Asset Managers and Brokers) and APT (Association of Proprietary Traders). The managing board is chaired by Fred Böttcher and has the support of a management team led by Mea Hiskes-Willemse. The purpose of the council is to represent the interests of the industry at the national and international level. It has been active as an informal platform for over ten years, but now has official status as an advisory council.
