Every trading day the gong is sounded in Amsterdam to mark the opening (9.00 am) and closing (17.30 pm) of the trading session.
Diederik Tjeenk Willink, director of the Nederlandsche Beleggingsmaatschappij voor Zeeschepen (NBZ) opened the trading day in honour of the NBZ's first listing on NYSE Euronext Amsterdam.
Exchange listing is expected to increase the liquidity and tradability of the shares of the first Dutch investment funds for ships, and make it a much more attractive investment fund for professional investors. NBZ is an open-end investment fund that finances existing seagoing vessels and shipping companies. NBZ's funds are spread over different types of ships and a range of markets. The fund currently has a fleet of seven ships, and is active in the dry cargo market, and the gas and chemical markets.
