2011 Worst Performing NYSE Euronext Indexes

European Sector indices contributed seven of the ten worst performing NYSE Euronext indexes for 2011. The PSI Financials dropped 62.37% as the worst performing index; followed closely by the BEL Industrials and the AEX Basic Materials losing 48.41% and 39.39% placing second and third, respectively. NYSE Liffe Cocoa Commodity Index landed in fourth place with a -35.06% return, as its decline continued through the fourth quarter.

The remaining European sector indices the CAC Financials, PSI Technology, PSI Telecommunications and BEL Financial indices took the fifth, sixth, eighth and ninth spots with -34.62%, -34.62%, -32.64, and -31.56 respectively.   The US indices contributed two of the top ten with NYSE Arca Steel Index falling 34.34% in seventh place and NYSE Arca Global Airline Index returning -31.51% for the tenth spot.
