SOS Children's Villages Sounds the Gong for Children in Haiti

For over 60 years SOS Children's Villages has been helping children without families to grow up in a loving environment in their own country.

Two years ago, on 12 January 2010, Haiti was struck by an earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter Scale. SOS Children's Villages wants to highlight the alarming increase in the number of Haitian children being abandoned by their parents. SOS Children's Villages believes that these children are entitled to a safe home and a loving family situation. 500 children in Haiti have already found a home in two children's villages, and 20,000 children, young people, and their families are being helped with their education, and medical and social needs. SOS Children's Villages will continue to work to create loving, stable environments in which children can develop and build a future.
