Celebrity Silhouette Docks in Tri-State

Celebrity Cruises visited the NYSE to mark the arrival of its newest and most innovative ship, Celebrity Silhouette, to the tri-state area. Celebrity Silhouette will dock at Cape Liberty (Bayonne), NJ on Wednesday, Nov. 2, and will become the first of the hip and modern Solstice Class ships to sail from the tri-state area, offering convenient vacation options for residents looking to escape to the Caribbean without having to fly. In honor of the occasion, Celebrity Cruises President and CEO Dan Hanrahan rang The Opening BellSM.

About Celebrity Silhouette:

• Celebrity Silhouette boasts 12 dining venues onboard including The Lawn Club Grill, the first large-ship outdoor, interactive grill restaurant where guests can grill alongside a Celebrity Cruises chef and the uniquely unordinary Qsine, the first seagoing restaurant to feature a menu and wine list on an iPad® and an engaging food-as-theater dining experience.

• Other new features onboard include The Alcoves – a private retreat overlooking the real growing grass on The Lawn Club with eight exclusive, cabana-style settings, each designed for two to four guests and equipped with WiFi and Michaels’ Club lounge – a craft beer focused bar featuring a variety of unique brews, bites and snacks to complement them, and flat-screen TVs for viewing sporting events.

• Celebrity Silhouette has many energy efficient features including glass solar panels that provide 19.5 kilowatts of solar power, an Advanced Water Purification System, high-glazed glass windows that reduce heat transfer into staterooms and a silicon coating on the underwater hull area that reduces frictional resistance and trims fuel consumption.

• Celebrity Cruises is gearing up for a big year in 2012 – the final Solstice class ship, Celebrity Reflection, will launch in December and their ambitious revitalization plans to “Solsticize” the Millenium class ships will also be complete in 2012. “Solsticizing” is the term Celebrity coined for its $120-million+ initiative to complement its Millennium Class quartet’s design and ambience with some of the popular attributes found on the widely heralded Solstice Class ships.
