2011 New Era Pinstripe Bowl Kicks Off

Players, coaches and university staff participating in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl visited the NYSE to showcase their respective universities to the New York metropolitan area. In honor of the occasion, Rutgers Head Coach Greg Schiano and Iowa State Head Coach Paul Rhoads rang The Opening BellSM.

Randy Levine (President, New York Yankees), Chris Koch (CEO, New Era Cap), Pete Augustine (President, New Era Cap), Dr. Gregory L. Geoffroy (Iowa State University President), Jamie Pollard (Iowa State University Athletic Director), Iowa State student-athlete Jake Knott, and Rutgers student-athletes Art Forst, Desmond Stapleton and Edmond Laryea also attended.

3:22 p.m. kickoff


The 2nd Annual New Era Pinstripe Bowl will take place on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Yankee Stadium. The game will feature the Rutgers Scarlet Knights from the Big East conference vs. the Iowa State Cyclones from the Big 12 Conference. The game marks the first time the two schools have met each other on the football field.

Players, coaches and university staff from both teams will take part in events in the days prior to the game, showcasing their respective universities to the New York metropolitan area.

Special events, promotions and community outreach – including ringing the iconic New York Stock Exchange opening bell – will take place throughout New York City during the week of the bowl game to create an unforgettable experience for the visiting teams as well as their fans and families. 

Kickoff for the 2011 New Era Pinstripe Bowl is scheduled for 3:22 p.m. on Friday, December 30.  The game will be nationally televised by ESPN, which has also secured national and local radio rights for ESPN Radio.
