Doug Chu

Position Title: Senior Vice President, Corporate Client Group

Doug Chu is Senior Vice President and Head of the Silicon Valley Office and Western Region for NYSE Euronext’s Global Corporate Client Group.  His group is responsible for advising and managing relationships with corporate clients and IPO prospects, as well as the VC, investment banking, private equity and legal communities. Previous to joining the NYSE, Mr. Chu has over 12 years of experience as a technology investment banker in Silicon Valley, in the technology practices of Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, and Bank of America Securities. He has advised clients in the software, internet, semiconductor and hardware sectors on over $15 billion of capital raising and mergers & acquisitions transactions. Prior to his investment banking career, Mr. Chu was an aerospace engineer with McDonnell Douglas Corporation and has experience as a programmer, an aerospace design engineer and also as an IT systems manager. Mr. Chu received his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, his M.S. in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University, and his MBA from U.C. Berkeley.

The NYSE Silicon Valley blog will focus on the intersection of technology and the capital markets. It will be a collaborative effort of the NYSE Silicon Valley office which serves the Western United States. Though the team works across industries, the focus is on Silicon Valley and technology. The team brings experience from many of the areas in the Silicon Valley ecosystem including technology investment banking, VC backed turnarounds, business development and entrepreneurship.  Located in Palo Alto, CA and as the world’s leading exchange, NYSE Silicon Valley provides unique insight into capital markets of the tech world.
