Sports Radio 66 WFAN Celebrates 25 Years of Broadcasting

On Friday, June 29, Sports Radio 66 WFAN and CBS RADIO (NYSE: CBS) will visit the New York Stock Exchange to celebrate the station's 25th year of broadcasting. On July 1, 1987, the radio landscape changed forever and history was made as WFAN-AM signed on-air in New York City, providing Tri-state area sports fans with the first and only outlet to hear and talk about sports 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Today, WFAN is heard by over 1.5 million people each week, making it the most listened to sports radio station in America.

To celebrate this milestone, morning show team Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton, as well as night host and 25 year WFAN veteran Steve Somers, will ring The Closing BellSM.

About Sports Radio 66 WFAN

As the world's first 24-hour all-sports radio station, Sport Radio 66 WFAN remains the premier sports talk radio station in the business. Since its debut on July 1, 1987, dozens of stations have copied the all sports format, but none have achieved the success and influence of the FAN.

WFAN is the flagship station of four New York professional sports franchises: the New York Mets, the New York Giants, the New Jersey Devils and the New Jersey Nets.

WFAN also provides sports updates every 20 minutes with exclusive WFAN 20/20 Sports at the top of the hour, 20 minutes past the hour and 20 minutes before the hour. Sports talk, great play by play, listener calls, plus everything in between, the sports leader is Sports Radio 66 WFAN - New York. WFAN now broadcasts in HD at both 660 AM and at 92.3 FM HD-3 (Source: CBS Radio).
