We currently have a group of teachers here at the NYSE for our Teachers’ Workshops.  Steve Mariotti, who presents at our Workshops and helps to select Fellowship winners for them (and is also a founder of NFTE, one of our key financial capability partners), did a great blog on the Huffington Post that captures many of the reasons we support teacher training.  Check out the full article here.

Fifteen keen NYSE Euronext volunteers from various departments in the PARIS office performed a “flashmob” in front of some 400 people (mostly student “young enterpreneurs” from ages 14 to 25). Many of our volunteers have been involved as sponsors, coaches or judges within the context of our global partnership with JA over the years. This year, many new volunteers joined us for our 5 week training adventure to prepare for our dance performance. The EPA-JA employees joined us for the first of two performances, which comprised of 25 dancers. For our second performance, close to one hundred members of the audience joined our dance and it was very enthralling to see. For the NYSE Euronext volunteers, our weekly practices were a wonderful team building opportunity and a way to relax after a long day at work. Some volunteers even practiced outside our regular Thursday meetings, creating a more advanced and professional sub-group.
