Every trading day the gong is sounded in Amsterdam to mark the opening (9.00 am) and closing (17.30 pm) of the trading session.
In honor of the contribution of De Lotto to the Dutch Society the past 50 years, Claire Lurvink, financial director, opened trading at the Amsterdam's stock exchange.
Over the past 50 years De Lotto (the national lottery) has raised 1.8 billion euros for sport and for cultural, medical and welfare charities. De Lotto is contributing to the development of sport, culture, social welfare and public health in the Netherlands. Over 1.3 billion euros have been given to Dutch sports, and charities such as the Prins Bernhard Cultural Foundation, the Orange Fund and the National Fund for Freedom and the Care of Veterans have received approximately € 500 million euros.
