Over a hundred school children make as much noise as possible for Drumming Day 2013. CEO of Euronext Amsterdam, Cees Vermaas, sounds the gongjoined by a procession of children from various schools in Amsterdam as they march across the trading floor with their drums.

Drumming Day is an annual event commemorating the orphan who prevented the destruction of the exchange building by the Spaniards during the Dutch War of Independence in the 17th century. To thank him, children were allowed to bang their drums at the exchange trading floor one day a year, an ancient tradition that has been reinstated at Euronext Amsterdam.

ABN AMO has been awarded the prestigious Henri Sijthoff prize for its 2012 Annual Report. The Sijthoff prize, an initiative of financial daily Het Financieele Dagblad, is the highest recognition given to financial reporting in the Netherlands. This year marks the 60th time that the prize has been awarded, the objective of which is to encourage better financial reporting on the part of the Dutch business community. Tom Heerkens, Head of External Reporting, sounds the gong on behalf of ABN AMRO.

The VEB Beursspel is organised by the VEB in collaboration with ING Sprinters. Participants have experienced, with a fictive deposit of€ 100.000 during11 weeks, how it works to trade in shares, ETFs (trackers), sprinters and/or options via an online game.
