Opening and Closing Bell on Wall Street
On Tuesday, January 29, NYSE Euronext executives, Jim Ross, senior managing director and global head of SPDR Exchange Traded Funds at SSgA, and guests will visit the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and ring the NYSE Closing Bell to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of the inaugural listing of the first ETF, the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (NYSE Arca: SPY) on January 29, 1993.
SPY is the largest ETF with more than $123 billion in assets under management and the most traded equity security in the world.
Jim Ross is the Global Head of SSgA's Exchange Traded Funds business. In this role, he is responsible globally for all aspects of the exchange traded fund business including strategy, research, product development, marketing and capital markets interaction. Jim also serves as Chairman of the Investment Company Institute's Exchange-Traded Funds Committee.
