NYSE-listed companies are leaders in almost every way - and that includes the percentage of women on their boards. Over 70% of the 2020 Women on Boards list recognizing those public companies that have achieved 20% or more women on their boards are listed at the NYSE.

On International Women's Day, we celebrated these companies by inviting a group of women board members from them to ring the Closing Bell. This was an incredibly accomplished group of women, and the event that followed was truly inspiring. But all agreed - we have a long way to go.

As noted in my earlier blog, gender equity is an ongoing challenge (and opportunity) for most companies. It is also an area that can exemplify the concept of "creating shared value" and one that I believe should be a topic for all CR officers, whether diversity falls squarely in their departments or not.
