  • 1,824,543,730 -- Total quotes on NYSE and NYSE Amex, up 3 percent from the previous record of 1,764,113,158 on 5 August.
  • 2,797,597,971 -- Total electronic messages on NYSE and NYSE Amex, up 2 percent from the previous record of 2,745,822,148 on 5 August.
  • 1,644 -- Total number of NYSE-listed issues that triggered short-sale restrictions yesterday.
  • 2,543,305,257 -- NYSE trading volume in shares, which made it the most active day in 2011 and the 19th most active ever.
  • 5,154,050,004 -- Total share volume on NYSE, NYSE Arca and NYSE Amex combined, the highest in 2011 and which was the most active in 2011 and the 12th highest ever.
