Every trading day the gong is sounded in Amsterdam to mark the opening (9.00 am) and closing (17.30 pm) of the trading session.
Retired General D.L. Berlijn, member of the managing board of the King William I Foundation, sounds the gong and announces the nine nominees for the prize.
The King William I Foundation awards prizes once every two years to a company in the large business category, and to a company in the small and medium sized business category, as well as a King William Plaque for Sustainable Entrepreneurship. This year the prestigious awards will be presented during a festive awards ceremony on Tuesday 8 May at the Floriade.
