Habitat for Humanity on World Habitat Day

Habitat for Humanity International visited the NYSE to celebrate 500,000th/500,001st Habitat for Humanity Milestone Houses in Kenya and Paterson, N.J., on World Habitat Day, Oct. 3. In honor of the occasion, CEO Jonathan Reckford rang The Closing BellSM.

The 500,000th Habitat for Humanity house will be completed in Maai Mahiu, Kenya, on World Habitat Day, Oct. 3. That same day, the walls will be raised on Habitat’s 500,001st house in Paterson, N.J., showing the continuing effort to create decent and affordable housing. Events recognizing World Habitat Day continue throughout the month of October, culminating with Habitat’s Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project in Leogane, Haiti, in early November.
