Campbell Soup Co. at the NYSE Corporate Responsibility Forum

The following is a Q&A with Dave Stangis, Vice President, CSR & Sustainability. He attended the first annual corporate responsibility forum at the NYSE.

NYSE Euronext: How would you rate the success of the first ever Corporate Responsibility Forum at the NYSE?

Stangis: I'd give the forum high marks.  They arranged the right speakers around relevant topics. We were able to share some tangible topics as well as point to future trends. The NYSE provides an ideal venue for a discussion of the intersection of positive business and positive societal outcomes.

NYSE Euronext: What were key learnings from the day that you will bring back to Campbell's?

Stangis: That our desire to deliver competitive advantage through our CSR and sustainability strategies will be even more important in the future than it is today. Our peer and competitive companies are getting smarter and our stakeholders and customers are getting more sophisticated. Just being "good" isn't good enough anymore. We'll need to be better to differentiate.

NYSE Euronext: What did you think of the Closing Bell?

Stangis: It was an honor to ring the closing bell and to represent Campbell and the other companies included in the 100 Best list. As a student of American business, the experience of walking the floor and standing on the podium was quite special.
